At it’s most simple level Qi Gong is a basic practice of following and staying present for the continuously unfolding and changing senses of life force energy as these changes move through you. We will be starting at the beginning in this Qi Gong class: Beginner’s mind. Appropriate for those who have practiced Qi Gong, are practicing, and those who never have and/or want to begin. Beginner’s mind is always profound.
This form can be practiced by anyone. The movements are short and can be done separately, in small groups or as an entire form making this form a very convenient tool to have with you at all times!
The autumn season is aligned with Lung energy in Chinese Medicine. The Lung energetic system is responsible for creating a particular type of defensive Qi called Wei Qi. Wei Qi depends on smooth and balanced flow in all of the energy systems.
Practicing Six Sounds helps to bring harmony, vitality and rejuvenation to the flow of energy between all of the main energy systems in Chinese Medicine. These are based on the five solid organ energy systems (Liver, Heart, Spleen, Lung and Kidney). Each is linked to a season, an element, a time of day and many other factors including a specific single syllable sound.
Six Sounds Qi Gong will provide you with simple movements linked with a simple sound for each of the five solid organ energetic systems listed above. We will also learn from simple self-massage techniques that correlates with each of the energetic systems to use as a warm-up to this and any Qi Gong form.
Qi Gong is an ancient system of self-healing consisting of gentle movement exercises that combine breath, slow movement, self-massage, and meditation to harmonize the body, mind and spirit. A dedicated practice can provide countless benefits including increasing calmness, reducing blood pressure, anxiety, musculoskeletal pain, regulating the neruoimmunological system and enhancing resilience,strength, balance and vitality.

Six Sounds Qi Gong is a powerful healing Qi Gong form that can be done at any time of year. Six Sounds is one of many versions of a foundational Daoist healing Qi Gong practice used within Chinese Medicine.

This intersection moves through us each and every moment of our existence. Arising naturally from this dynamic intersection is the innate resilience and strength that comes from deep within.
This beautiful form supports the autumn time of year when turning inwards energy is fully innate in Nature and within each of us. No prior Qi Gong experience necessary.

Being able to more easily hold two opposing views without adding tension can make difficult conversations easier as well as helping to navigate moments of unknowing.
By learning to widen your focus and access your awareness, you can notice when changes are necessary and be able to increase your comfort, dynamic alignment, and efficiency.
