Our times are requiring the ability to be able to grow, see and move from more than one perspective and often navigate conflicting ideas without becoming stagnant or resistant. In other words, building adaptability, resilience and balance! Actually balanc’ing’, as a verb. This is what gives us that inner sense of our full power.

At the core of this skill is the ability to find contra-lateral, spiral counter-balance in all actions. Many of us either skipped or significantly limited this time period in our early development leaving us with less options as adults.

The lessons in this series are innovative and will involve discovering our most foundational patterns of continual re-adjusting between gravity and ground and between intention and attention. Improving the way we stand, reach, sit and play in our physical patterns can concurrently improve the ways we communicate, regulate our emotions and navigate our inner worlds. We will explore novel new movement patterns that will help you understand balance, as a verb, in all arenas of your life.

Awareness Through Movement (ATM) explorations are powerful experiments in using a particular type of curious and non-judgmental noticing while moving.

In these classes, we will explore Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement (ATM)® lessons which allow you to learn to generate true ease and flow of movement from a dynamic counter-balance within all of your movements. This contributes to ease, comfort, adaptability and resilience for you!

This can make many types of activities more effective including walking, reaching, transitional movements as well as many creative endeavors. Being able to more easily hold two opposing views without adding tension can make difficult conversations easier as well as helping to navigate moments of unknowing.

By learning to widen your focus and access your awareness, you can notice when changes are necessary and be able to increase your comfort, dynamic alignment, and efficiency.

Learn to decrease effort and discomfort from repetitive habits of moving. Good for first-time Feldenkrais participants or those who have explored ATM before.
